I guess its about time for me to post something new on this blog. I've been a little lazy in writing.
We have a new president, Barak Obama, yea!!! If you go to the website www.whitehouse.gov you can actually write a note to the president. Isn't that awesome and every week you can watch a video of President Obama's weekly address. This really is an administration for the 21st century.
I've been reading quite a bit lately. One book that has stood out is "A Lesson Before Dying", by Ernest Gaines. It's set in the early 1900's in Louisiana and tells the story of two black men (one educated and one uneducated) and their struggle with prejudice and ignorance. It is an exceptional story and I highly recommend this book.
I have started an exercise program again and also watching my diet. There's a really good website to help www.realage.com . There, you can answer a questionaire that will assess what your "real" age is compared to your chronological age. It also will help you in assessing what vitamins you may be deficient in. I've found that I've not been getting enough vitamins, C,D and E. I'm now taking supplements and am noticing improvements in my health.

Hey Debbie!
I was listening to my "chill music" and came across "Praan" and got the urge to look up the lyrics to this wonderfuly unusual song. Of course it is a different language, but the first site that I went to offered the transalation! In English, the song is called "Stream of Life." It's beautiful! I was so excited, and it made me think about you. The site specifically refers to the song in relation to the "Matt" videos. I'll also put the site and the end of my post. Here are the lyrics:
Stream of Life
by Rabindranath Tagore
The same stream of life that runs through my veins night and day
runs through the world and dances in rhythmic measures.
It is the same life that shoots in joy through the dust of the earth
in numberless blades of grass
and breaks into tumultuous waves of leaves and flowers.
It is the same life that is rocked in the ocean-cradle of birth
and of death, in ebb and in flow.
I feel my limbs are made glorious by the touch of this world of life.
And my pride is from the life-throb of ages dancing in my blood this moment.
(Now in the original language:)
Praan Lyrics - Transliteration
Some people have asked for this. So here you go.
Bhulbona ar shohojete
Shei praan e mon uthbe mete
Mrittu majhe dhaka ache
je ontohin praan
Bojre tomar baje bashi
She ki shohoj gaan
Shei shurete jagbo ami
(Repeat 3X)
Shei jhor jeno shoi anonde
Chittobinar taare
Shotto-shundu dosh digonto
Nachao je jhonkare!
Bojre tomar baje bashi
She ki shohoj gaan
Shei shurete jagbo ami

Hi Debbie,
I like realage.com too. By the way how old are you? younger I bet. with all the good health habit you working on, I know you can reduce your age and look younger. Who do not want that. I do ok with the exercise, but when it comes to chocolate and cookies, ice cream etc... I am very bad. But I'm working on it.
Love you.
Esther
